Creating World Leaders Through Partnership

November, 2006 - Bakersfield, CA ¾ “The key to the success of the Million Leaders Mandate has been effective partnerships,” stated John Hull, President of EQUIP. He went on to note that International Christian Ministries (ICM), “is a great example of what it means to partner together to achieve a common vision.”

Phil Walker, President of International Christian Ministries, was given the EQUIP “Partner of the Year” award by John Maxwell, EQUIP’s founder during an annual gathering in Pebble Beach(pictured at left).The “Partner of the Year” honor has been awarded for the past three years to one of the 23 EQUIP’s partners.

John Maxwell launched EQUIP ten years ago with the goal of seeing millions of leaders trained and equipped around the world.

In 2002, John Hull, the President of EQUIP met with Phil Walker, the President of International Christian Ministries, to discuss the ambitious goal of the Million Leaders Mandate. EQUIP wanted to train one million leaders around the world. One of the primary targets for this training was Africa. EQUIP recognized ICM’s broad network across Africa and their many years of orchestrating leadership training.

The first part of the three year program is concluding this year. In recognition of the contribution ICM has made to the Million Leaders Mandate, John Maxwell handed Phil Walker the Partner of the Year Award. Over the past three-years more than 400,000 leaders in 25 countries have been trained using the EQUIP leadership materials and ICM’s vast network of trainers.
