The church: Not..... the "Hope of the World"

The Hope of the World is Jesus

International Christian Ministries is about training Christian leaders.  We are committed to working with those who call Jesus 'Savior', and understand that their purpose is to bring glory to God regardless of their occupation.  While the church (little c) is critical to God’s plan, God’s plan does not depend on the church.  God’s plan depends on the Church (big C, the called out ones).  The focus of ICM is to see men and women become whole hearted followers of Jesus through living out their faith in business, government, education in every community of the world.  While we spend a lot of time and energy encouraging the local church (little c), we understand that a church is only as strong as the disciples it produces.  And disciples are only effective when they become like the master, Jesus. The Hope of the World is Jesus --- not the church (little c).

Hon. Justice J.F. Agya , High Court of Justice, Jalingo, Taraba State, Nigeria
“The training that I received at the ICM church leadership training programs has completely changed my perception of leadership. I now realize that I have a duty to receive training in order to train and equip members of the church who have leadership potentials. Besides, I have also come to appreciate the fact that service is what distinguishes church leadership from secular leadership. While secular leadership is about status, position and power, church leadership is all about service. The church needs to partner with ICM in her bid to produce true leaders and not mere rulers.”

Elder Z. M. Maidawa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Rural and Community Development. Jalingo, Taraba State, Nigeria
‘As a Permanent Secretary with lots of experience in leadership, I am expected to be an excellent leader. I thought I was until I started to attend the ICM church leadership conferences, and then I discovered my emptiness. The teachings I received have opened my eyes and changed my way of thinking about leadership at home and in my place of work. I have now become a servant-leader with more openness and love for my family as well as those working under me’.

“… I was able to see myself really well. I realized my weaknesses and my gifts. I have also learned that the church has to bring in a positive impact in the world.Hayasu Hamaro

“The seminar has enabled me to have a different perspective on leadership and I now know that a leader shouldn’t decide on his own but has to listen to the heartbeat of the people he leads.”
“The people I trained are also teaching other leaders and the leaders are getting a change of attitude and perspective. May God bless all those who have labored to bring this lesson to us.”  Yakob Borsamo

“I don’t have words to describe how much I have learned from these seminars. May God bless all those who took part in the process. To mention just few, after I took this seminar, I could no longer continue in my old ways of leading. Now I know how to handle others and I have gained a wider vision for my life and ministry.” Evangelist Birhanu Demamu

“I have gained a lot more than what I got out of my two years theological education. As a leader of churches, I have trained leaders from local churches. I have also got a chance to see how well they are using it.” Evangelist Fanos

Ghana

“ I came to meet the Seminar at the latter part of the first day.  I was a bit skeptical because I did not do know what to expect at the leadership meeting, however I know I was led there by the Holy Spirit. I must confess that this is one of the best Church Leadership Programs I have ever attended.  From my assessment programs I have spent money to attend in the USA, in comparison, this is far better than some of them. May the Most High God bless ICM work in Ghana. I am personally encouraged and challenged with the teaching. - Rev. Moses Mensah, Peace Assemblies of God Church, Tema.

“The teaching has enlightened me.  I am challenged to impart the knowledge acquired to my congregation.  I want to plead with ICM team to extend the leadership seminars to other Regions and Districts of Ghana.  I believe this will help solve the struggles many Pastors are going through to grow God’s Church”. Pastor Israel K. Dotse, AME Zion Church, Tema.

“I would have done myself more harm than good, if I did not attend this all important Conference.  By God’s grace the leadership training received is going to help me put my church into small groups so that the leaders can serve better.  Please take this seminar to other brothers and sister in other parts of the Country. - Rev. Bright Asare Baafour, Assemblies of God Church, Sunyani.

UPDATE: the U.S. Ambassador's visit to ICM Seminary, Kitale.

THE VISIT TO RIFT VALLEY AND A COURTESY CALL TO ICM SEMINARY AND IMANI RADIO
BY U.S AMBASSADOR, HIS EXCELLENCY MICHAEL RANNEBERGER

ICM Seminary and Imani radio was privileged to have his Excellency, the U.S Ambassador Michael Ranneberger pay a courtesy call and be interviewed by the radio Director, Mr. Ptallah Butaki. Butaki interviewed the ambassador on a wide range of issues but particularly on the Kenyan situation and the role his government was playing in assisting the government of Kenya in brokering a lasting truce between the different factions and also how his government was helping in alleviating the suffering of the IDP’s both in the short-term and long term. In his remarks regarding the tour to the Rift valley, Ranneberger said “I Planned this visit to the Rift valley before the agreement was signed between president Kibaki and the Honorable Raila Odinga – but I also planned the trip with confidence that a deal would be achieved. I believed this because of the enormous faith I have in the Kenyan people.
You and people across this great land made your voices heard that the two leaders must put the interests of the nation first. I commend them both for having done so, but in a very real sense the
Kenyan people deserve the most credit for what has been accomplished”.

Focusing on the plans that the US has in terms of assistance to Kenya, His Excellency said that as a strong friend of Kenya, the U.S will help the Kenyan people seize the opportunity and address fundamental grievances and strengthen institutions. This plan will be carried out in part by providing 25 million dollars. Also the Kenyan civil society groups and the coalition government will be consulted to determine how best to employ the funds. The Ambassador said that their main focus will be on supporting the implementation of the political agreement and the agreed reform agenda, assisting people to resume their livelihoods, help in reconstruction and the return of the displaced persons to their homes and strengthening democratic governance and institutions. He also reiterated his governments continued provision of the necessary funds for humanitarian assistance to those that were affected by the violence.
